Our Little LUv Baby Shower

Friends Tinina and Marvin were first introduced through mutual friends and asked us to plan their January baby shower. With their little one arriving in February, a Valentine-inspired celebration felt like a no-brainer.

Love was already in the air — we just styled it and put a little New York on it.

Our Little LUv Concept

Keeping the love going, we played off the family name, Luis, and titled the shower Our Little LUv — a playful name that tied the parents, the baby, and the theme together effortlessly.

The design leaned fully into Valentine energy: classic hearts, lush florals, and a bold monochromatic red palette that felt romantic, modern, and joyful. All love, all intention, all for baby Luis and the parents-to-be.

Big Impact Moments

Big moments deserve big statements.

Guests entered with oversized photos of Tinina and Marvin, flanked by dramatic red and ivory balloon installations that guided them straight to the main focal point.

At the center sat a custom Our Little LUv heart-framed backdrop wall layered with rich red florals, maternity photos, and red foil heart balloons on either side.

Front and center, a three-tier cake detailed with cascading red hearts was placed slightly off-center — because the cake deserves its own moment too.

LUv Mart (Straight Outta NY)

This moment was personal.

Inspired by Tinina and Marvin’s New York roots — and mine — Our Little LUv Mart was a love letter to the corner stores we grew up with. As someone from NY, this detail felt especially nostalgic, bringing back memories of after-school snack runs and grabbing a cold drink from the bodega fridge.

Shelves were stocked with mama-to-be Tinina’s favorite cravings: Sour Patch Kids, Honey Buns, salt & vinegar chips, Lays, and Ruffles. Guests “shopped” the mart and packed their picks into classic thank-you plastic shopping bags, completing the authentic bodega feel.

A drinks fridge filled with ice-cold, old-school Coca-Cola bottles anchored the space. We gave the iconic brand a subtle baby-shower twist with a custom slogan —“LUv is the real thing.”

Each bottle featured personalized Coke-style red labels inspired by the classic design and served as take-home favors, making them both functional and sentimental.

We LUv the Details

Behind the mart shelves, guests found something unexpected — not more snacks, but thoughtful keepsakes. Baby onesies and books were styled on display, ready for Tinina to take home and enjoy during those early newborn days.

Custom "Our Little LUv" drink stirrers and cocktail toppers added charm to both cocktails and mocktails, paired with a playful drinks menu at the bar.

The Tables & Lounge

For dining, we designed caterpillar-style tables that weaved through the room toward the main backdrop, creating movement and intentional flow.

Crisp white tablecloths were layered with woven red heart placemats, while red roses in bud vases dotted the tables from end to end — simple, romantic, and impactful.

The lounge area was all about comfort. Curved cream and red sofas, plush heart-shaped pillows, and sculptural heart-accent side tables created a cozy space for guests to kick back and stay awhile.

The Takeaway

From the thoughtful design details to a glam black-and-white photo booth, every element worked together to create a baby shower that felt personal, stylish, and unforgettable.

A celebration full of love, laughter, and anticipation — marking Tinina and Marvin’s next era as parents in the most meaningful way.
